Meet The Flock: Robert Collins

Since 1803, we’ve been a gathering place. With that legacy comes a whole host of wonderful personalities who have helped make the Golden Lamb what it is today. As we tell stories of our past, we also want to bring you tales from the legends of our present!
Meet Robert Collins, our Assistant General Manager. Since joining the Golden Lamb last September, Rob has played a key role in our daily operations—helping lead the team, plan special events, enhance the guest experience, and more. Get to know Rob as he shares his story in his own words!
Q: When did you first start at the Golden Lamb and what brought you here?
I first started at The Golden Lamb in September. A friend of mine introduced me to the opportunity and spoke so highly of The Golden Lamb that I knew I had to check it out for myself.
Q: What was your first restaurant role and how did you progress from there?
My first restaurant role was many years ago as a prep cook. From there, I worked my way through all processes of restaurants, from being a corporate trainer to General Management.
Q: What do your responsibilities include?
I help the General Manager oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly for both our guests and our team. I’m also involved in planning and coordinating future events to keep things fresh, exciting, and aligned with the Golden Lamb’s many traditions.
Q: What is your favorite item on the menu?
You can’t go wrong with our Original Sticky Burger, a burger made with house-made peanut butter, bacon, BBQ, sharp cheddar, garlic aioli & crispy onions.
Q: What does it mean to you to be a part of the Golden Lamb legacy?
Being part of the Golden Lamb legacy means carrying on the tradition and values established by the Jones family. It’s about being a warm and welcoming presence and serving as a proud pillar of the community—as the Golden Lamb has done for generations.
Q: Anything else you'd like to share?
The Golden Lamb is truly an amazing place to work. Our team is not only passionate about what they do, but also some of the friendliest and most welcoming people you’ll ever meet.
